Although influenced by the transcendent tunes of greats such as Sunscreem, ATB and Sasha, Tristan Beulah has a unique sound honed from a lifelong love of music and technology. Born in Denver Colorado and travelling all over the States before settling in Vancouver, Tristan has been surrounded by music ever since he can remember. Growing up listening to the likes of Parliament, Earth Wind and Fire, Jan Hammer and Kraftwerk he credits his interest in music and technology to his father, a onetime NASA technician himself who had a fondness for playing “funky” music around the house. With such influences around him, a love of music off the beaten path was practically inevitable.
Initially finding an interest in four-on-the-floor beats and subsequently discovering Sasha and Digweed, Tristan’s first foray into music was with computer based composing at an early age. As he got older, he began to narrow in on his genre, exploring progressive trance music and honing his craft before working to release his first album. While this one leans more toward the epic trance genre, Tristan is looking forward to developing more of a progressive sound with his next project.
When not focusing on albums, composing music, or working on sound design, the versatile 24 year old has an astounding array of interests. Tristan is into everything from math and science to programming (often using his own software effects processors in his music) and visual effects. He currently works as a sound artist at a major Vancouver-based game production studio on a Triple A game franchise.
Tristan credits a great deal of his skill, talent and success to his father. Aside from exposing him to a wide range of unique music at a very young age, he is also an exceptional role model and someone who Tristan continues to look up to.
